Up until recently, the concept of flying cars have been a thing of dreams, something you only see in sci-fi movies set in the faraway future.
However, as technology edges us ever closer to The Jetsons, one eccentric inventor has taken us one step further – by inventing his very own flying drone car.
Kyxz Mendoza from the Philippines, started working on this epic invention nearly six years ago in an effort to avoid traffic jams, and only recently has he completed his first successful test flight, launching the vehicle 25ft above the ground.
As you’ll see in the video, the contraption is a little wobbly- but the awesome inventor manages to lift the one-seater drone car that he calls the ‘Ultralight Aircraft’ above the ground with finesse.
Kyxz added: “It’s a flying car type of vehicle that uses drone technology or multi-copter technology to fly. It’s like a drone car.
“I wanted it to be a sports car, a flying Lamborghini, maybe. The design was a trial and error process. Some materials burned up on use. Other materials didn’t quite work.
“One of the main features is the battery redundancy system so even if one battery runs out, the aircraft can still maintain its flight.”
Koncepto Millenya – the group of entrepreneurs led by Kyxz – are now seeking bidders and investors to help bring the Ultralight Aircraft into the market for commercial distribution.
With any luck they’ll find their buyers sooner rather than later and we’ll all be dodging the commute in one of these bad boys in no time at all. Otherwise we’ll just have to resort to this guy’s solution and kayak our way to work to avoid the daily drudge. Here’s hoping it’s the former.
